Criteria
The LARA is awarded for the top games in the category of Best International Computer Game, Best International Console Game and Best International Mobile Game. The best games are not necessarily the ones that are commercially successful. LARA awards recognise games which present a high-quality product, offer good game-play and possess one or more attributes which make them unique.
Definition of International
This refers to an international game which was also released in Germany, or a game which was developed in Germany but was also successful internationally.
Definition of Computer game
A PC game may be one which is released on multiple platforms, but with a focus on PC during development. This may also be a downloadable game for the PC platform.
Definition of Console game
A game (physically) developed for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii. This may also be a PSN (PlayStation Network), Xbox Live Arcade, etc. game which is offered for download via a console.
Definition of Mobile game
This refers to games for the PSP or Nintendo DS, as well as those for mobile phones (e.g. iPhone) or tablets (e.g. iPad).
